People Relief Volunteers took a critical | AGARTALA, June 2 (TIWN): On Tuesday at 12:40 PM, the Peoples’ Volunteer Group received a call regarding a fire-service worker who was suffering from a Coronavirus infection for a few days. The patient was kept in home isolation in the Kalitila area of Khairpur, RK Nagar was having difficulty in breathing. Soon after receiving the call, the volunteers rushed to the spot within 15 mins wearing PPE kits by auto-ambulance, put him in an oxygen mask, and took him to GB Hospital. After house to house Covid testing, the State Health Dept had quarantined few families at Jogendranagar. Later, the families were tested from private hospital ILS which is authorized by the State Govt for treatment and testing. This incident has erupted heavy resentment among the families. One of the patients said, "I went to the local testing centre for a test which was opened yesterday and per family 1 person was asked to attend the testing. After testing, I told them to give us a report but they did not and asked us to go back home. We were four women together yesterday in the camp at Nabodoy Sangha. But as we were instructed to come back, accordingly, we came back to our houses but later the officials told me that I am Covid positive and thus not to go out of homes. 10323 Teachers' Death Toll Raised to 99 | AGARTALA, June 1 (TIWN): 10323 Teachers' Death Toll continues to up in Tripura as one more teacher has died without treatment. Resident of Manu, Longtarai undergraduate, terminated teacher Bipod Bhojon Banik who was physically challenged died without treatment. He became handicapped in a terrorist attack after receiving bullet injuries in his legs and he was the only earner of his family but amid his physical weakness, the terminated teacher became mentally weak after his job loss. Finally he has passed away leaving his family behind. Condoling his death, JMC member Kamal Deb said, "Bipad Bhojon Banik has died without treatment. 99 teachers have died in the state but State Govt has not helped a single family. Our question, after how many deaths, will the Govt will be sympathized for 10323 teachers ? If anymore teacher dies, the blame will be gone to the Govt and the Dept only.
