AGARTALA, June 1 (TIWN): A covid positive patient who was in home isolation and was struggling to breath at Abhoynagar. The family contacted the helpline of the health department for an ambulance. The ambulance came as usual, but there were no stretchers, no health worker.

In a viral video it was clearly visible that the ambulance driver and the helpers, who were wearing PPE kit, refused to touch the COVID positive serious patient to take into the ambulance. When the family called the health department’s helpline they made it clear that they could not help the patient in this matter. 

However, negligence of health staff is not new as earlier the state witnessed such kind of incidents under Biplab Deb’s era. On one side the state government remains busy in tall claims about the health department's best services, but the ground reality shows horrible scenario.

Such horrible scene is not only visible in this sector, but similar poor services are witnessed in Covid care centers too.
