AGARTALA, June 1 (TIWN): Miscreants set fire last night at a house in Border Golchakkar area.
Reportedly, miscreants set fire intentionally at Keshab Chandra Das’s house in Border Golchakkar area at around 12 o’ clock last night. The massive fire was first spotted by BSF and during the incident Keshab’s mother and sister were sleeping inside the room however they were removed from the incident spot.
It was immediately informed to the fire station, the fire service personnel with 3 vehicles reached to the spot and the fire was extinguished. It was said if the fire department did not rush to the incident on time then the fire would engulf the entire area. Furniture to all valuable items in the house was burnt into ashes and nothing was saved however, no injury was reported.
It is suspected the fire was set in Keshab’s house over political enmity as four extra burnt gas stoves were found from his house.
Three shops including four rooms burnt into ashes and the damage amount estimated Rs 10-12 lakhs. A case will be lodged against the fire incident.
