Recently another community staged a same protest in Kanchanpur itself, alleging Govt is depriving actual locals demands by settling Brus in Tripura amid Lockdown. After that protest, today another protest staged by the Jumpui Hill's people, who said, Jumpui Hill is their land and they will not leave an inch of it. 8 returnees from Bangladesh tested COVID | AGARTALA, May 30 (TIWN): Tripura's COVID-9 cases has raised to 255 as 10 persons more have tested positive in state. Among the newly tested persons, 8 persons are from Bangladesh who recently arrived in Tripura via Akhaura checkpost. They were kept in institutional quarantine till testing negative. Other negative tested people also would remain in 7 days quarantine until final sample testing. However, no Airport passenger was tested COVID-19 positive so far. Terminated 10323 Teachers called for a S | AGARTALA, May 29 (TIWN): The terminated 10323 teachers have called for a massive protest on June 1st at the Rabindra Bhawan premise in Agartala and in other subdivisions also as a part of statewide protest programme. Talking to media, former teacher Bimal Saha has said that with social distancing, a human chain will be formed in Agartala from Rabindra Bhawan area to City Centre in protest against the teachers terminations. “I call all the 10323 teachers to come and join the protest. Stranded people arrived from Bangladesh | AGARTALA, MAY 28 (TIWN): 129 stranded people have returned from Bangladesh on Thursday. They were been brought to Akhaura Border via Bus from Bangladesh and crossed the border followed by 'Thermal test'. Indian High Commissioner of Bangladesh Mrs. Riva Ganguly Das was present in the occasion along with MP Pratima Bhowmik. Total 230 people from different Northeastern States like Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya returned from Bangladesh, among them 129 people are from Tripura. Landslides hit Railways services in Nort | AGARTALA, May 27 (TIWN) Due to landslides, storms and raining, Railway services were halted in the Northeast region. Reportedly, train service in Lumding-Badarpur of Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) the is standstill. An NFR spokesperson told media that that landslide occurred at Maibong at around 10 pm yesterday. As a result, train movement has remained suspended in the hill section.
