AGARTALA, May 27 (TIWN): Massive damages reported throughout Tripura due to heavy storms and continuous raining. Chief Minister Biplab has ordered restoration of cut services by 3 days. Various routes remained close due to big trees were uprooted there. Many areas in the state remained cut of electricity services, causing a massive disruption in normal lives. State emergency services are on function 24X7 with emergency numbers as District Emergency services-1077, Fire Service – 101, Ambulance – 102, Police Station – 100. National Highways, highways even the Agartala city witnessed transport halting due to the unfriendly weather erupted throughout Northeast. Whereas the neighboring state Assam reels under flood, affected 2 lakhs of people, in Tripura shops, houses were damaged, trees uprooted.

CM has ordered till the Panchayat level, BDO, alerting SDRF whose employees are already in action. SDMs, DMs District and sub-divisionwise were also seen on ground, taking direct note of the situation.

Ground report says, heavy losses are being faced by small scale businessmen, tea tellers in Agartala, whose shops were damaged heavily in storm.

Heavy rain is expected over much of the Northeast, especially very heavy rain over Meghalaya, southern Assam, southern Nagaland, western Manipur, northern Tripura and northern Mizoram.
