AGARTALA, May 27 (TIWN) Due to landslides, storms and raining, Railway services were halted in the Northeast region. Reportedly, train service in Lumding-Badarpur of Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) the is standstill. An NFR spokesperson told media that that landslide occurred at Maibong at around 10 pm yesterday. As a result, train movement has remained suspended in the hill section. Two Shramik Special Trains for Agartala, Tripura, and Jiribam, Manipur, have been stopped at Guwahati and Lumding respectively.Assam is facing the first wave of flash floods triggered by heavy rains due to the recent cyclonic storm 'Amphan', leading to major distress for the people in the state.According to sources, more than two lakh people in Assam are currently affected by the flash floods, triggered by Cyclone 'Amphan', in the state. In the meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has said that the rains will continue over the next two to three days.

Various routes remained close due to big trees were uprooted there. Many areas in the state remained cut of electricity services, causing a massive disruption in normal lives.
