AGARTALA, May 28 (TIWN): When natural disaster, lockdown have rattled the normal lives, Tripura’s 10323 teachers are undergoing everyday disaster as their salaries stopped from 2 months. Moreover, there is no update of the petition filed in Supreme Court by Tripura Govt, seeking permission to appoint 10323 teachers in non-teaching posts. Govt supporting, 10323 teachers organization is also tightlipped over the stranded situation of the former teachers. The former teachers are using various techniques, methods with social distancing to reach out the Govt. Sometimes, they are protesting from home and sometimes, they are facing massive police action due to their raising voice about BJP’s pre-poll promise to save the teachers livelihoods. In such a situation, recently the ‘Amra 10323’ group wrote letters to CM via post reminding his promise to the teachers before 2018 election as the then BJP State President.

Taking a dig at the Govt’s forgetting promise, the teachers while sending letter to CM told media, “We humans forget often what we say and thus, we don’t want CM to forget his given promise. So, we are trying to remind the CM how we are living today. We are looking at CM’s face and waiting for his step. We were teachers, that is correct. We loved our students, that is correct. Just we want to say, till CM does not acknowledges our pains, we will continue to remind him about this”.

Another former teacher said, “Due to COVID-19 we are unable to say anything. We are unable to meet the Chief Minister. Whenever, we try to say anything, police forces are trying to suppress us”.“As due to police, we can’t send our voice to CM, standing on that ground, we found a path to reach him out. Thus, we have tried to send our voice via post card”, said the teacher.

“From 31st March, for 2 months we have not been getting our salaries. Our families are in miserable condition. We are also sons and daughters of this state. Our condition is beyond explanation, but to reach out the CM, across Tripura, we have started this movement to send letter to CM. Everyone will write to the CM”, said another teacher.
