‘Biplab Deb Govt’s 1st Budg | AGARTALA, June 19 (TIWN): BJP Govt’s claim about 14 % hike in budget than previous CPI-M Govt led budget of 2017-18 FY, has been slammed by CPI-M MLA Ex-Minister Badal Choudhry. The opposition's reaction came after Finance Minister Jishnu Debbarma on Tuesday had placed a budget of Rs. 16,387 crores for 2018-19 FY, with a hike of 14 % than the last financial year. After the budget was placed in Tripura Assembly Day-1, CPI-M MLA Ex-Minister Badal Choudhury said, “There was nothing in BJP Govt’s budget which can fulfill their Vision Document in next 1 year. 1267 contractual jobs announced as †| AGARTALA, June 19 (TIWN): 1267 irregular jobs likely to be terminated as all have been announced as "Illegal". Those jobs were provided by CPI-M Govt without any permission from the Finance Dept. The Assembly Session which has been started from today raised many issues and out of them this particular issue has received most highlights. Finance Minister Jishnu Debbarma said, "In CPI-M Govt's era those jobs were provided on contractual basis but no legal procedures were followed in those recruitment. Thus the state govt is announcing those jobs as illegal". Finance Minister's announcement was supported by all BJP MLAs and BJP MLA Asish Saha also hit the CPI-M for their continuous rule-breaking in recruitment. Finance Minister Jishnu Debbarma also said, proper investigation will be done in this issue and it will be probed why such a massive irregularity took place. This news will generate tension among the contractual employees, who were promised by the BJP before election that once BJP in power all contractual employees will be regularized. 2 arrested in Chandrapur firing case : | AGARTALA, June 18 (TIWN): 2 persons have been arrested by Airport Police on Monday in connection with firing incident which led 1 person critically injured at Chandrapur, admitted at GB hospital. One of the accused is now being interrogated by East Agartala police, whereas another is under NCC Police. Two arrested persons were identified as Ramu Ghosh (38) of Aralia’s Netaji Palli and Bijju Ray of Khejur Bagan under NCC police station. Within 24 hours of the incident police have arrested the accused, whereas eye witnesses said total 3 persons were involved in that firing incident.A shooting incident on Sunday has hit capital city Agartala with one 33 years person left seriously injured at GB hospital.
