Nobel Laureate Amartya Sen’s anal | AGARTALA, Sep 5 (TIWN): Nobel Laureate and eminent economist Amartya Sen had accused CPI-M for ruining industrial development in Bengal during its 3 decades rule. Before 2016 Bengal Assembly elections, Amartya Sen said that Left Front not only destroyed state’s economy but generated huge unemployment and poverty. "I think that even in Leftist thoughts, there are many flaws. Without applying reasoning it was often decided what to do or what not to do. This way problems were created," the celebrated economist said at a workshop held by Pratichi Trust in Dec 2015. Tripura Communists are no different than their Bengal counterparts as CPI-M Chief Minister Manik Sarkar followed the same path of destroying State’s economy in 23 yrs rule. Lack of economic planning, lack of industrialization caused massive unemployments & poverty in State. In 2016, Tripura ranks 4th nationwide in unemployment due to CPI-M’s grand plan of mass ‘poverty generation’ to fill its cadre base. Massive break-down of healthcare, poor infrastructures, unemployment is the outcome of Communist rule in Tripura. | 04-Sep-2016 |
Northeast–Tripura–Banglade | AGARTALA, Sep 5 (TIWN): Tripura is being used as a key transit route to smuggle drugs to Bangladesh by international drug smuggling rackets operating in NE region. Bordering Myanmar to the east are the four Indian states of Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Mizoram and Nagaland. Each state’s data from the National AIDS Control Organisation reports show high numbers of HIV-related diseases and volumes of drug trafficking. Narcotics and contraband firearms are regularly trafficked across the unmanned border as the routes of western Myanmar are controlled by India’s north-east insurgents. In recent years, Manipur has witnessed huge quantities of contraband high Pseudoephedrine Hydrochloride (PH)-content drugs, manufactured in India, being trafficked into Myanmar for processing narcotics especially heroin. The thriving ethnic insurgencies of Manipur with their own “tax structure†help to exacerbate the problem. Pseudoephedrine is smuggled from New Delhi to Myanmar and China via Guwahati by conduits based in Nagaland, Manipur and Mizoram. | 05-Sep-2016 |
After becoming World’s 5th large | AGARTALA, Sep 5 (TIWN): In a recent development it has been known that India’s poor Railway infrastructure led to spent 92.5 paisa last year to earn every rupee of revenue, leaving practically nothing to invest in new facilities or improve current ones. The one of the chief causes behind this are : various unions, who dislike all change, small or big. However, Suresh Prabhu intends to fix all infrastructural problems within 2019. However, India has already been considered as the 5th biggest railway networks, in the world with 1.3 million employees. Thus fixing the huge expanded railway network is not so easy which connects the entire country with 68,525 KM of route track (in 2014), 12961 passengers trains and 8,637 freight trains. It also runs 125 hospitals, 586 polyclinics, 102 schools and sundry other initiatives. However, the biggest problem of Railway infrastructure upgradation, is that without enough revenue the Railway is just becoming as a financial burden on the Unions Budget, and want to make it largely self sufficient organization run on the lines of an efficient corporation. But Railway must serve the poor people------ thus new routes are often decided with the need and fully non-commercial purpose. Thus good railway ministers are those , who do not hike railway fair. | 04-Sep-2016 |
