10,323 teacher termination case: One yea | AGARTALA, May 8 (TIWN): One year has been passed after the High Court had terminated the service of the 10,323 teachers. On May 7th, 2014, Tripura High Court had issued an order for the termination of services of 10,323 teachers as the State government does not follow the justified process for their selection. After that the Government appealed to the Supreme Court to take proper action in the termination issue of the teachers.Till date, no solution is found by Govt. Uncertainty still continues among the job aspirants. During the time of first sitting regarding the judgment of High Court, to Supreme Court, Govt. had appealed to the Court to also put a stay order in the service of these teachers so that the employment of these above mentioned teachers should not fall under danger. Decline in TTAADC vote share is worrying | AGARTALA, May 7 (TIWN): Everything happened as it was expected in the TTAADC election with Left Front sweeping the poll for the second consecutive time. The opposition could not win even a single seat in the hill election owing to the disunity among the opposition political parties here. But even the complete sweep of the ADC election is not making the ruling CPI(M) party happy enough. Stating “No funds were allocated in the railway budget for 2015-16, even for land acquisition†the official source said that the state govt. has recently approached the Union Ministry of railways. "The central government is yet to provide required funds for the project. The Bangladeshi surface transport authorities stopped it last week. TRTC and Bangladesh authorities started the Agartala-Dhaka bus service in September, 2003. India and Bangladesh started the Kolkata-Dhaka bus service earlier in 1999. The Agartala-Dhaka bus service was run for four days a week. Growing preference of the ‘foreign’ route for commuting to Kolkata or the rest of the country through West Bengal en route Bangladesh led the authorities to consider increasing periodicity of the buses, the source said. This year the result of the voting to the TTAADC has brought a major change in the battle with CPI-M v/s IPFT. In a judgment passed by the Division bench of Tripura High Court comprising of Chief Justice Deepak Gupta and Justice S C Das, the court ruled in favour of the deprived PWD engineers and said that the new rule of promotion of the engineers on the basis of performance in the promotional examinations does not have any merit in this case and the engineers should be promoted or recruited based on the old rules. Talking to TIWN, Mr. Biswas told that according to the schedule, the issue of Case Charge Frame against Law Secretary Data Mohan Jamatia was placed before the Court on April 25th. The charge was framed according to the Act 15 of the law contempt. On the other hand, Court had also instructed to submit the name of the witnesses and the necessary documents on May 6th. After that, on the basis of the witness and relevant documents, fate of Law Secretary will be further decided. However, in addition with the ongoing scams and corruptions, the case of Law Secretary has again pushed Chief Minister Manik Sarkar into a crisis. Tripura asks Centre to release NH-44 lan | AGARTALA, May 5 (TIWN): With the Agartala-Sabroom National Highway NH-44 double lane construction work droops, Public Work Department (PWD) Minister Badal Chowdhury requested Union Ministry of Roads and Transport to release the land acquisition fund as earliest as possible in order to take up the work.Minister Badal Chowdhury on Tuesday highlighting the discussion held at the review meeting at Guwahati with Ministry of Roads and Transport said, “Tripura PWD department had urged the centre for immediate release of fund to the respective authorities by the NHIDCL for early commencement of the improvement works of Agartala-Sabroom section.â€Interacting with the newsmen at the civil secretariat on Tuesday Chowdhury also said, “Despite taking the matter with the Union Minister, no fund has been released yet for the land acquisition whereas the state govt. here has already taken up the preliminary work assigning the agency.â€Concerning about the development of the NH-44 Churaibari-Agartala section, Minister said that the department had requested the centre to approve the state’s proposal at the earliest so that after observing all formalities the work for double lanning of the section can be taken up immediately after the monsoon. | 05-May-2015 |
