AICC Secretary Bhupen Borah calls for un | AGARTALA, April 1 (TIWN): All India Congress Committee (AICC) Secretary Bhupen Borah on his arrival to the state here messaged the Pradesh Congress Committee for united labor to the ensuing ADC election. Borah arrived here on March 31 and had already left the state today. Besides, the Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President Birajit Sinha today held a pre-poll meeting with the congress workers and the newly appointed observers here at the Congress Bhawan. Talking to TIWN today Sinha said that keeping eye on the ensuing TTAADC election declared to be held on May 3, the Congress has already geared up for the election to the ADC. A series of meetings were held and would be held here during the next couple of days to finalise the candidate lists for the election. However it is mentionable that the CPI (M) along with the regional parties of the state had already declared their candidate lists for the TTAADC election with some new faces brought to fight in this year. While, the BJP Pradesh committee who is moving forward with their strategy to base here as the main opposition to the ruling CPI(M) had also geared up for the poll. Children Drama Festival to be held at Kh | Khowai, April 1 (TIWN): Childrens Drama Festival will be going to be held at Khowai Town Hall from April 22. The festival will continue upto April 24th which is organized by Cultural Campaign. Speaking about the schedule of the festival, Secretary of the Cultural Campaign, Saikat Roy told that most of the dramas are played by adult artists. Water scarcity emerges as a burning prob | Agartala, April 1 (TIWN): With the onset of dry season, water scarcity emerges as a burning problem in the different areas of Tripura especially in tribal halmets. Due to the lack of water sources different diseases like chicken pox, measles creates havoc in Gandacherra and Manughat sub-division. Tripura CM prepares to attend NEC meetin | AGARTALA, April 1 (TIWN): Chief Minister Manik Sarkar voiced his discontent over the 13th Finance Commission’s (TFC) awards and recommendations. Sarkar also explained the difficulties that the state would face in the next five years. “So far, sharing pattern for centrally sponsored schemes was 90:10 for special category states. However, from the Union Budget 2015-16, it appears that sharing pattern will undergo a change for a number of CSS with states to contribute higher share. In this regard, I (CM) said that any change in the sharing pattern will add to state’s liability which state may not be able to meet, thereby leading to cessation of pro-people development schemes in our state,†CM Manik Sarkar said today.Chief Minister was speaking to the reporters here at the civil secretariat on Tuesday during a press conference after the conclusion of the cabinet meeting. | 01-Apr-2015 |
