CRS inspection to Badarpur-Kumarghat rou | AGARTALA, March 30 (TIWN): With the completion of the CRS inspection into Agartala-Kumarghat route, the team has walked forward and began with the inspection at Badarpur-Kumarghat route from Wednesday morning.It is to be mentioned here that Railway safety commissioner Sailesh Kumar Pathak said that there is no problem in the Agartala-Kumarghat railway track and is all set to toll the train soon. He further said that superfast trains can be introduced if landslides are taken care of. However, nothing can be said until and unless inspection is completed into the entire newly converted BG track.The safety inspection is the last step in facilitating commissioning of the route, which connects Tripura with other parts of the country. Passenger train service from Agartala li | AGARTALA, March 30 (IANS / TIWN): The much awaited passenger train service between Tripura and the rest of India is likely to start in April, a railway official said on Wednesday."After completion of all technical, logistical and administrative formalities by mid-April, the train will start running via Guwahati," said spokesman Pranav Jyoti Sharma of the Northeast Frontier Railway. He said the Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS), Shailesh Kumar Pathak, was now examining the technical aspects of the newly laid Agartala-Badarpur (Assam) broad gauge railway line. Pathak, who met Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar on Tuesday, told reporters that the broad gauge line laid up to Agartala was "excellent and unique". The first commercial freight train arrived in Tripura on February 22 from Assam's Badarpur town. Assam's Barak Valley was brought on the broad gauge rail map last year. He further said that superfast trains can be introduced if landslides are taken care of. Praising the local authorities in a press meet, Railway safety commissioner Sailesh Kumar Pathak said that the State government has shown equal co-operation in connecting Tripura with BG rail service (even though a quick fact-check shows CPI-M aligned contractors supplied poor construction materials, causing collapse of newly constructed Railway Platforms at Dharmanangar). He further applauded the initiative of the NFR authority for completing the work in the given stipulated time and even much before that. One the train starts service it will run in a speed of 120KM per hour. Discussing about his observation he also added that the track alignment between Agartala-Kumarghat routes is perfect and there is no problem at all. Modern track formation techniques are adopted in the transformation of the track from MG to BG. Massive corruption under NFR hits Dharma | DHARMANAGAR / AGARTALA, March 29 (TIWN): After the 800 meter platform collapsed at Dharmanagar rail station due to the moderate rain on Monday morning, within next days the entire platform had collapsed comprising around 400 more area of the platform. The platform was constructed by using poor quality and cheap materials, that a splash of rain has turned the newly constructed Dharmanagar rail station into miserable shape. After the platform has collapsed fully, the poor quality work is getting visible. Reportedly, the walls of platform have been constructed without any concrete rod fitting. Moreover in many parts of the platform cracks are visible and it can be assumed that within a next few hours of rain the entire station will collapsed. The sanitary places including toilets are going under the soil at Dharmanagar rail station. All these are happening as because rolling was not done for a single day after the mud filling and as a result the platform has collapsed fully. Traffic e-challan launched in Agartala f | AGARTALA, March 29 (TIWN): Traffic challans, those dreaded slips issued by the police to offenders under Motor Vehicles (MV) Act, have partially gone digital in Agartala from Tuesday, a new step in the field of e-governance to ensure the process of issuing fines under various slabs is transparent and hassle-free.Instead of physical challans to charge fines from traffic violators, Tripura police has introduced the e-challan system in the city on a trial run. Talking to TIWN correspondent traffic DSP said that the system is launched for the first in the entire NE region on a trial run basis at Agartala from Tuesday. NFR Railway corruption : Dharmanagar rai | AGARTALA, March 28 (TIWN): A few hours of moderate rain on Monday morning collapsed 800 meter of Dharmanagar railway platform which has created much turmoil among the railway passengers. Reportedly, Dharmanagar railway station was earlier allegedly using poor material in the construction work, due to bad maintenance and lack of supervision under the observation of Engineer Chittaranjan Paul (infamous for bribery and rampant corruption). With the collapse of railway platform, resentments brewing among the common people of Dharmannagar. Reportedly, 2 high officials including DCM B.K.Misra, R . K Mandal DOM visited here in Dharmanagar rail station on Saturday as a part of inspection and took a survey of various works. Sources said that officials expressed displeasure about the track works and also other ongoing works. Many works however still far from getting over at Dharmanagar railway station including few tracks also. In comparison to Agartala rail station, Dharmanagar rail station work not progressing rapidly due to corruption and contractor lobbies. Whereas all the railway works held in Tripura are in good shape but Dharmanagar rail station the work was undergoing little slow and allegation were coming for poor construction work, until the NFR officials had inspected the rail station. Yusuf commission report row: 'CM Manik S | AGARTALA, March 28 (TIWN): Opposition leader Sudip Roy Barman on Monday in a press meet at Assembly stated that Chief Minister Manik Sarkar had planned the murder of the then Health Minister Bimal Sinha as the growing popularity of Sinha was posing a threat to the CM’s chair. Addressing a press meet on Monday, opposition leader Sudip Roy Barman further said that the ruling party has intentionally hushed up the publication of Yusuf Commission report for past 16 years only to save the position of the Chief Minister’s chair of Manik Sarkar in Tripura. It is to be mentioned here that the report of the enquiry by Yususf commission, headed by Justice (retd) M.A. Yusuf of the Calcutta High Court, submitted the report in June 2000, but the State Government took 16 years to made it public. Question arises why the report was not made public if it was submitted by the commission 16 years back to the state government. Alleging corruption and changes in the report the opposition Congress demanded a fresh probe in it.Barman further alleged that with the sense to hush up the real truth, the Left Front government has not cooperated with the inquiry commission. It is worthy to mention here that the government turned their back towards the depositors who lost everything following chit fund scam. The issue is being totally ignored. The chit fund companies who started their business by having a secret understanding with the administration fled away with their entire business. They are beyond trace now, hence, placing the depositors in jeopardy.Similar role was played by Rose Valley. In most of the cases, Rose Valley is not giving back the investors their deposited amount. Every time the depositors knock the door and have to come back home disappointed. Boost for gas based power plants: Tripur | AGARTALA, March 28 (TIWN): With nod from centre’s green panel, approving the state owned oil major ONGC to develop 30 wells across the state, ONGC to start frilling soon for improving the gas resource of the state.The Centre's green panel has given approval to state-owned oil major ONGC for developing 30 wells and other infrastructure in Tripura, entailing an investment of Rs 758 crore.Reportedly, the Expert Appraisal Committee (EAC) of the ministry has also given clearance to the ONGC's Tripura project with some conditions. However, ONGC can start drilling only after it will obtain forest clearance, monitor ambient air quality, control noise from drilling activity, and put in place oil spillage mechanism among others. Based on the EAC recommendations, the ministry will take a decision on giving final environment clearance. According to the preliminary blue print ONGC will develop 30 wells across six gas fields at Boramura, Konaban, Agartala Extension Dome II, Manikynagar, Sundalbari and Gojalia in Tripura. The depths of wells vary from 2,500 to 3,000 meters. Besides, it will also construct a gas collection station (GCS) and a pipeline (54.15 km) connecting GCS to ONGC Tripura Power.
