AGARTALA, March 30 (TIWN): With the completion of the CRS inspection into Agartala-Kumarghat route, the team has walked forward and began with the inspection at Badarpur-Kumarghat route from Wednesday morning. It is to be mentioned here that Railway safety commissioner Sailesh Kumar Pathak said that there is no problem in the Agartala-Kumarghat railway track and is all set to toll the train soon. He further said that superfast trains can be introduced if landslides are taken care of. However, nothing can be said until and unless inspection is completed into the entire newly converted BG track. The safety inspection is the last step in facilitating commissioning of the route, which connects Tripura with other parts of the country. Though the gauge conversion works were completed month ago, the safety inspection was delayed, raising concern among train commuters.According to Railway sources, the mandatory final safety inspection would be conducted by experts for at least 6 days.

Railways can run services on the route only after the safety inspection and certification by the CRS.

However, the latest trends in the CRS inspection shows Tripura will be connected with the BG passenger train service by April.

It is to be mentioned here that the team led by Railway safety commissioner sailesh kumnar Pathak is scheduled to inspect new railways at several spot with a view to determine whether they are fit to be opened for the public carriage of passengers or not but the preliminary report of the CRS shows that Tripura will have to wait long for boarding BG passenger train in the state.

Badarpur to Kumarghat would undergo CRS inspection on Thursday. CRS inspection is one of the quintessential steps to run the BG track. If everything falls in right place, the CRS inspection will give green signal for the commencement of the BG train soon. If the CRS gives green signal, the track will be ready for introducing BG passenger train service by March itself. Now, the NFR authority is carrying out finishing works in two sections- Badarpur to Kumarghat and Kumarghat to Agartala to pave the way for running commercial passenger train service.

With the successful run of the railway service between Lumbding and Silchar Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) is working hard at much more faster pace to bring Agartala under the country’s Broad Gauge Network by March 2016.

The successful run of the trains on the broad-gauge track will bring sync with those in the rest of the country and Tripura is gearing up for faster connectivity and communication with several parts of the nation.

In order to make the Agartala Railway Station as perfect station, different works including extension of platforms, creation of new platforms and installation of new BG rail tracks, joining of panel have started.

The workers are leaving no stones unturned to complete the conversion work in the given deadline.
