‘Over 1 lakh MNREGA job card holders' | AGARTALA, Jan 30 (TIWN): CPI-M units staged a protest in Agartala against the Adhaar Based Payment System (ABS) that has been launched for MNREGA job card holders. CPI-M agitators under ‘All India Krishak Sramik’ said, that due to the ABS, over lakhs of people would lose job cards in state Tripura. Talking to media, a CPI-M leader said, “We are protesting against the ABS process that has been introduced for MGNREGA job car holders to clear their wages. The linking of Adhaar and Bank has caused job card losses for over 7.5 crores of India across the nation. 'Strict action to be taken against Gas a | AGARTALA, Jan 30 (TIWN): Reacting to journalists’ queries about how the Govt would handle the issues over ongoing problems created by many gas agencies by imposing extra carrying charges on the consumers, when the Central Govt already is paying the gas agency for the carrying costs, Minister Sushanta Chowdhury asked consumers to lodge complaints. Although the gas agencies are supposed to deliver the gases at free and if not, they should slash the carrying charge, but it’s an open secret that the gas agency companies are instead of facilitating the consumers, rather imposing extra charges on them. Flight Delays continue due to Weather : | AGARTALA, Jan 17 (TIWN): Flight delays continue to haunt passengers due to fog. The problem recently started, and Indigo officials said that "fog" is the only reason for all these hassles. The passengers of 6E491 received messages in morning that due to 6E966's delay, this flight may be affected which resulted 1 hour 45 minutes delay. The passengers at Agartala MBB Airport are still worried about the exact timing of departure. Many passengers have flights in afternoon from Kolkata whereas many have train schedules there. State Tripura has been experiencing extreme weather and low visibility due to fog since the morning. The state has seen almost nil sunny hours in the last 1 week. Tension Triggered in Korbook Shilchari h | AGARTALA, Jan 16 (TIWN): Heavy tension was generated in Korbook, Shilachari primary hospital after a 48 years old man died allegedly without treatment. It has been alleged that no doctor was present in the hospital since the patient was brought at 6.45 am whereas the Doctor came at 9.45 am and declared the patient dead. The patient party suspected that the man died at around 8 am. Allegation raised against Dr. Ranit Das for visiting Agartala when he was supposed to be on duty during that time. In morning Swadeshi Chakma (48) was brought to the hospital in critical condition but no doctor was present in the hospital. As a result, he could be referred to any other hospital.
