DHARMANAGAR, Jan 21 (TIWN): A bridge was partially collapsed after a heavyweight truck had driven over it putting normal lives in trouble. The incident took place in Dharmanagar Balaka Cinema Hall lined Jury Bridge. Talking to PWD SDO Gautam Roy, he told media, “Back in 2022, June 3rd, defects were traced on the bridge and after that the bridge was closed and an alternative route was opened. However, that could not prevent traffic jams and the traffic jam issue increased a lot. After that we opened the bridge once again but restricted heavy vehicles. It’s clearly written how much weight a vehicle can carry when plying over the bridge but yesterday night a heavy vehicle drove over it and the accident happened”.
