TELIAMURA, Jan 29 (TIWN): Assam-Agartala national highway’s vehicles stranded for hours on Monday after locals blocked the road seeking immediate completion of demarcation process for the land distribution. Along with land distribution issue, the agitators also raised demand of getting relief from wild elephants, due to which public lives are being haunted everyday. A huge number of police force and security forces have been deployed on the spot to control the situation. Talking to the protesting public, one of them said, “We have been requesting the Forest department for a long time to solve our problems but no development came and the demarcation has not been completed yet. We can not wait for this simple task to be done days after days. That’s why we have gathered here to protest against the delayed project as we now need a solution of the matter”.
The blockade started from morning 9 am causing massive traffic movement disruptions on both sides of the agitation.
