Tripura is flooding, one died : Howrah e | AGARTALA, Nov 6 (TIWN): Rain in November month casing massive damages at Howrah river bank as Govt. has literally failed to launch its “Save Howrah†project which was announced in 2015. For plantation near Howrah river bank AMC received huge funds, but it remained without any affect. The report till 3 PM of Sunday it has been informed that already 12 families at Chanpur area had lost their homes when over flowing water of Howrah river hit there. Govt has launched a relief camp at there, but the condition of the relief camp is very bad. Around 70 people have taken shelter at Chanpur school and passing hours sitting on the school’s floor amidst mosquito, no proper sitting or food arrangement yet. However, Assembly Dy Speaker Pabitra Kar and SDM visited the spot in the morning, and now Govt will look after the fooding and lodging of them. The maximum machines are left damaged, whereas others are not working well but it was unearthed when the unseasonal rain came in this November month, resulting huge disruption in everyday lives of common people. The situation became more pathetic, when the waste materials are found floating over the water and many people alleged that this water is creating skin irritations. This has created much tension among the bikers. Public already asking, “Is it for the 2nd time that state will suffer from petrol crisis, from which we had overcome just 3 months back?†Since Friday night the crisis began and since then long queues are observed before Agartala petrol pumps for 24 hours. Amidst rain falling public are waiting in long lines behind atleast 1000 people in fuel demand. For long 2 moths, Tripura had undergone acute fuel crisis in during July-August month which created riot like situation in state. No state might have suffered so much from petrol crisis as Tripura suffered. Many VIPs, foreign delegates observed the situation during their Tripura visit on that time. Cyclone ‘Kyant’ hovering ov | AGARTALA, Nov 4 (TIWN): Cyclone†‘Kyant’ wrath is majorly affecting in Tripura, increasing the chances for cyclone and more rains in next 48 hrs. A brewing tropical cyclone in the Bay of Bengal could spread flooding rain across eastern India and Bangladesh into this weekend. This system comes just one week after Cyclone Kyant roamed the Bay of Bengal. Currently a depression, the system will curve toward eastern India and parallel the coast of Andhra Pradesh and Odisha into Saturday, local time. The depression may then make landfall in Bangladesh later this weekend. It is possible that the depression meanders south of Bangladesh into early next week, not making landfall until the middle of next week as a much weaker system. LPG Crisis grips CPI-M ruled Tripura : T | AGARTALA, Nov 3 (TIWN): Trinamool Pradesh Congress on Thursday held a protest rally from Agartala North Gate, protesting against the ongoing LPG crisis in state. Inaugurating a three-day "Asian Ministerial Conference for Disaster Risk Reduction 2016" here, Modi said India is even ready to share its space technology and resources with any country to deal with disasters across the globe. "We need to think big and innovatively," he said while talking about the effect of disasters on economic growth.
