Tripura suffering from severe power shor | AGARTALA, Nov 13 (TIWN): Atlast the long waiting may end now as Morachak to begin a fresh start from December month, with ONGC’s supply of gas to the plant. Reportedly, a lifeless situation has occupied Tripura’s one of the major plants Monarchak, which is located in Sepahijala District. The project which runs on Combined Cycle Mode and consists of one Gas Turbines of 65.42 MW & one Steam Turbine of 35.58 MW each of BHEL supplied operating on natural gas obtained from the gas fields of M/S ONGC, is under the observation of project head S R Biswas. But since 5 months the project is lying dead as ONGC has failed to provide gas to the plant but there is no chance of quick recovery of the plant from this state as December was marked as the deadline for ONGC to supply gas.Lack of interference of Tripura Govt in this issue, a major part of power generation has been stopped as Monarchak left non-working due to lack of gases. Talking to S R Biswas he said that its this years December that the project may get a kick. Rumour of currency shortage triggers pan | AGARTALA, Nov 12 (TIWN): A lifeless situation has triggered resentment against the banking service of Tripura on Saturday, which was to be dedicated for the extra 6 hours care to the customers. Reportedly, lack of cashes for money-exchange has hit many private banks and the customers are left with no other option but moving to Govt banks. TIWN visited few private banks at Agartala, 100 rupees notes were observed. 'The situation will be in control within Sunday', said a banker to TIWN. However, taking this opportunity of poor banking and ATM services the political opposition leaders are blaming the central govt. for its decision, whereas it has been said that ‘No Shortage’ of currency will be felt by the customers. Via SMS banks told the customers that their ATMs would be opened from Friday, but literally the plan has failed here, which generated anarchy in Agartala. More or less in every subdivisions the situation is same.
