AGARTALA, Sep 21 (TIWN): New medical facilities have been added to Agartala Government Medical College and GBP Hospital with the inauguration of a Super Speciality Block, Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Central Sterile Services Department (CSSD) on Sunday.

Chief Minister Manik Saha formally inaugurated the facilities as part of efforts to strengthen the healthcare infrastructure at the state's premier government hospital.

The new facilities are expected to support the hospital in handling patients requiring specialised treatment and critical care. The ICU will provide dedicated care for seriously ill patients, while the CSSD will support hospital departments by ensuring the proper sterilisation and availability of medical equipment and instruments.

The inauguration programme was attended by Health Department Secretary Kiran Gitte, Rogi Kalyan Samiti Chairperson Mina Rani Sarkar, along with senior officials and other representatives.

The expansion of facilities at AGMC and GBP Hospital is aimed at enhancing the hospital's capacity to provide advanced medical services and improving access to specialised healthcare for patients in Tripura.
