2 minor girls brutal Rape Cases shocked | AGARTALA, June 19 (TIWN): In last 48 hours two rape cases have shocked the state, whereas one rape was ended by brutal murder of a 6 years girl. When 2 persons were arrested in 6 years girl’s gangrape and murder at Dharmanagar, at the same time another 53 years old man arrested for raping a 12 years old girl at Kadamtala. After police’s immediate action and successful drive, people have demanded capital punishment of the rapists. Today, Dharmanagar Police caught two rape accused persons in connection with a 6 years girl’s rape and murder. One of the accused persons is Sourabh Nath (19) and another is Dibarkar Das (20). Both of them are residents of Dharmanagar Padmapukur area. A scooty was seized which was allegedly used by the culprits in this rape incident. Dharmanagar Police arrested 2 rape accus | AGARTALA, June 19 (TIWN): In a successful drive, Dharmanagar Police, North Tripura caught two rape accused persons in connection with a 6 years girl’s rape and murder. One of the accused persons is Sourabh Nath (19) and another is Dibarkar Das (20). Both of them are residents of Dharmanagar Padmapukur area. A scooty was seized which was allegedly used by the culprits in this rape incident. Police now investigating the case and strong actions are being taken against them. ‘Water-Logging problems in Agartal | AGARTALA, June 19 (TIWN): While inaugurating SMART City project in Agartala Banamalipur on Tuesday, Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb has said that the water-logging problem of Agartala city specially in Banamalipur area (CM’s constituency) has been decreased this year except one-day which suffered from technical problems and in coming days, such problems will be permanently ended. In the SMART City project which will be ended by 2 years, the Govt has focused on drainage system at the most and water-drainage system and hopefully by 2 years Agartala city will be better shape. This water-logging problem which is being faced by the new Govt has been a problem of decades. Unscientific city construction, no proper drainage system has worsened the matter. Tripura CM inaugurates much awaited Rs. | AGARTALA, June 18 (TIWN): Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb today has inaugurated various developmental projects including the SMART City project at the cost of Rs. 2000 crores which will be sponsored 50% by the central govt and rest 50% by the state govt. Addressing the gathering after inauguration, Chief Minister said that Agartala’s drainage system’s development will be first priority of the Govt. Deb said, “Agartala was never a planned city. It was built before 150 years and continued to be congested. If Govt attempts to change the whole structure then lakhs of people’s houses need to be bulldozed, which nobody will wantâ€. Biplab Deb mentioned, once smart city is made by loans and 50% central funds, then to maintain the smart city Municipal Corporation needs tax increase, otherwise it can not be maintained. Airports Authority of India to complete | AGARTALA / NEW DELHI, June 18 (TIWN): After Guwahati and Imphal, the Agartala airport is set to become the third international airport in the northeastern region by the end of this year 2019 or by early 2020, a Minister said here. "The Airport Authority of India (AAI) has informed us that their ongoing works to make Agartala's Maharaja Bir Bikram (MBB) Airport as an international one would be completed by this year end. But if the works are hampered due to the monsoon season or any other factor, then the declaration would be made by early 2020," Tripura Transport and Tourism Minister Pranajit Singha Roy said.The AAI had undertaken a Rs 438 crore project to upgrade the Agartala airport to international standards by providing world-class facilities."The budgeted expenditure of Rs 438 crore is expected to be escalated.
