KAMALPUR, Nov 29 (TIWN): The administration is all set for the ensuing Nagar Panchayat election here. With an aim to cope with the gearing up temper of the election, the administration left no stone unturned. In this election 7915 voters would cast their franchise in 11 polling booths to elect 11 representatives of Nagar Panchayat for next five years. Police also beefed up security measures to keep law and order under control. Besides keeping watch in different areas, constant patrolling and vigil got tightened. And nothing unprecedented been reported so-far regarding the election.
On the other hand, the political parties and their contesting candidates also remained busy in molding the public opinion in their favor. The CPI-M Sub-divisional Secretary Anjan Das led the party and remained busy in securing 11-0 victory. On the contrary, Congress led by district Congress President Manoj kanti Deb and other leaders got busy in their effort to influence the public opinion. Though BJP failed to contest from all the 11 wards but still the party tried to influence the voters with the Modi charisma.
The voters got agitated by the extravaganza of the political parties especially the CPI-M and now eagerly awaited for 9th December to get rid of all those political hurly-burly.
