CHARILAM, Feb 16 (TIWN): In a bizarre demand, locals of Nanjala Nathung Bazar area under Bashtali village, Charilam block, protested against a recent recruitment of a pump operator.

According to locals, the pump operator who was hired is not a local person and they demanded someone from the village should only be hired.

The agitators also warned that they will block national highways if their demands are not met.
