Opposing politely all the orators before him, the Chief Minister said, "Narendra Modi is no less than Mahatma Gandhi. When Mahatma Gandhi spoke whole India listened to him regardless towns and villages. Now when PM Modi speaks from Red Fort same thing happens".
"From Red Fort PM Modi urged rich people to give up the LPG subsidy and by his request crores of Indians gave up subsidies. Modi could make a law but his appeal was so deep that around 1.5 crores families left their subsidies", CM told Tripura University students.
"Both Mahatma Gandhi and Modi came from Gujarat and both are of same personality", he said.
