AGARTALA, July 21 (TIWN): CPI-M’s tribal wing Gana Mukti Parishad (GMP) has organized a massive protest rally here in Agartala today demanding food and work in ADC and rural areas.
Following the rally a deputation was placed to the DM of West Tripura, Sandeep Mahatme led by ADC Chief Executive Member Radha Charan Debbarma.
According to GMP, Tripura’s poor economy was adjusted with 7 to 8 days MGNREGA mandays under the previous CPI-M Govt’s era, which has now further dropped. Not even 2 days of MGNREGA work is being given per month leading massive food and work crisis in villages.
GMP leader Radhacharan Debbarma mentioned about a “total collapsed Rural Economy”, saying, “The state govt is busy to talk on what CPI-M has done in 25 years, whereas not a single govt official was sent to the villages till day which are suffering from food, work crisis”.
