AGARTALA, Nov 11 (TIWN): 'Tripura markets are depending upon the imported items from Bangladesh and Shillong due to flood', being asked by media vegetable sellers said.
But the flood must had heavily affected the Bangladesh, Shillong fields too. Then how their items are saved ?, question raises.
"Market prices are really high. Customers are unwilling to buy items due to the price hike", the businessman told TIWN.
"Radish price is Rs. 100 Per Kilo, Cauliflower Rs. 80 Per Kilo, cucumber Rs. 60 kilo, Chilli - 200 rupees, tomato- 100", said the seller.
"Customers are not buying items but what we should do ? Due to flood local items are damaged, dependent on Shillong, Bangladesh products", he added.
"Imported items are keeping the market alive", the seller said.
But one customer said, "There may be huge gaps among the market price and whole selling price, but state govt has no control on the price tags".
