AGARTALA, April 4 (TIWN): The students are now the targets of unethical business mindsets as huge quantities of chips and cold drinks were seized from shops near Tripura University. On Saturday, under the Sadar subdivision, a raid was conducted in Tripura University area's shops where seizures took place by the Enforcement team. The government officials told media, that unhygienic conditions were found in many food shops. Students are the targeted consumers of those shops, but with the seizure took place on Saturday, question raises over the health safety of the students.
The Enforcement team also charged shopkeepers for selling cold drinks at higher prices than the actual price.
“They are forcing the consumers to pay Rs. 5 extra for freezing the drinks. Also, cylinders were seized from some shops. We want to aware people about their rights. Nobody should pay extra for cold-drinks,” said the official.
It has been advised, always to check the expiry dates before consuming any food item.
