AGARTALA, July 25 (TIWN): The interview of much awaited 12000 non-teaching posts have begun on Tuesday via 'walk-in-interviews' across Tripura school education offices. The posts were indirectly created for the 10,323 teachers who lost their jobs in a Supreme Court's verdict on March-29 due to the recruitment policy's violation by the Tripura govt while appointing them, when Banamali Sinha was the Education Director and S K Panda was the Chief Secretary. However, in 2014, May-7 High Court had cancelled the jobs of those 10,323 teachers following 58 deprived youths petitions, but Tripura Govt was given option to save their jobs by appointing also the 58 petitioners in Govt Depts as per their qualifications. But instead of giving them jobs, Tripura Govt had challenged the HC's order and later in 2017, March-29 state govt had lost the case in Supreme Court. Immediately opposition demanded Chief Minister Manik Sarkar's resignation for devastating 10,323 families. Thus to save state govt's face, the 12000 non-teaching posts were created with a 'surprise' of Teaching-Experience of 5 to 7 years as the eligibility.

It resulted a librarian degree holder couldn't apply for the vacant librarian posts just because the posts were created for 10,323 teachers.

Talking to the media at Agartala Education Office the 10,323 teachers urged people not to file any case this time and to save their lives.

Education Minister Tapan Chakraborty on May-27 declared that 12,000 posts in Education Dept to be filled up (even though State Govt has no money). Whereas since years, 2000 posts could not been filled up, all of a sudden Tripura Govt has released offer for 12,000 Education Dept Employees posts in 4 categories to save 10,323 teachers, that generated much resentment among the 7 lakhs of unemployed youths in Tripura. Reportedly, as for 1) Academic Councilor 1200 posts, 2) Student Councilor 3,400, 3) School Library Assistant 1,500, 4) School Assistant 5,600 posts.

Academic Counsellor (1200), Student Counsellor (4300), School Library Assistant (1500) and Hostel Warden (300) with 5 years experience & for School Assistant posts  3 years of teaching experience”.
