This brutal act was done at Dhajanagar under R K Pur PS when at late night by her husband Miltan Biswash, brother in law Babul Biswash and sister in law Sabitri Biswash burnt her with kerosene on Sunday late night. But surprising matter is that whereas complain was lodged at Udaipur R K Pur P S but till now nobody has been arrested so far, neither the matter came in media focus. The allegation against her husband and family members were given by the victim herself at Gomati Dist Hospital.
Talking to O/C Madhabi Debbarma over phone on Monday she told TIWN that among the 3 accused persons, all are in hide and thus police is unable to reach out them, but investigation and searching are going on. There is no chance of her survival, said the eye-witnesses of her burnt body.
2 years back Laxmi was married in her 18 years age from Salgarah. In her marriage Rs. 50,000 cash and other furniture were taken as bribe, but the families lust could not be ended there. For more money, Laxmi was being tortured continuously and thus finally this tragic incident happened with her.
On June 28, Lok sabha MP Jharna Das Baidya said that crime against women has declined by 2 %.
When Central Commission for women declared that Tripura tops in Crime against women, CPI-M MP Jharna Das Baidya tried to justify that DGP A K Sukla told them there is 2 % down in crime against women till 2016, even though former DGP K. Nagraj who was given leave 2 months back claimed for 25 % decline in crime rate.
Now, it’s to be seen what the MP and her Women Commission do to punish the accused in Laxmi’s case of Udaipur.
