AGARTALA, Feb 18 (TIWN): On the inaugural day, Tripura’s Assembly Budget Session-2017 ended in chaos only 8 days remained for discussion. However, what will be the soaps and gimmicks and total figure of the budget and what angle the budget will be placed or who will be actually benefited from the budget nothing is clear yet. Neither the Finance Minister gave any signal to it. The most interesting issues will be Rose Valley depositors money-returning issue, DA hike, pay commission, unemployment etc. However, in the 1st day 3 issues were discussed : 1) SC / ST fund which was deducted by the Central Govt, 2) opposition MLA Pranajit Singha Roy sought increasment of Tripura’s unemployed youth’s age bar for atleast 2 years while filling up the vacancies, 3) Demanding the proper inquiry and arrest of the culprits linked with Rose Valley company opposition MLA Diba Ch. Hrankhawal asked the Govt about the status of the case.In 2016’s Assembly Tripura Govt. tabled a Budget of Rs 15,246.52 crores in the state Assembly for the 2016-17 fiscal at Tripura Assembly.Total receipt of debt is stated to be Rs 1570 crores and the deficit amount was stated to be at Rs 188.54 crores. Tripura's financial mismanagement over two decades pushed the State towards brink.

Finance Minister Tapan Chakraborty (In/ Charge) said that the debt of Rs. 1570 crore would be reportedly covered by reducing non-development expenditures, stepping up resource mobilization to increase the state’s own revenue beside more efficient tax enforcement and effective austerity measures.

The budget has also revealed that the Budget for the Fiscal year 2016-16 is hiked by 17.34 percent compare to the previous year.

But surprising matter is that whether the budget of the financial year 2016-17 laid importance to the development of various departments including Health, Education and other issues, but it has been seen that the budget allocated by the Central Govt was not fully utilized by the state govt and Tripura Govt’s budget allocation time to time remained under heavy question.

But the Govt ended with 5 % DA and 5 % hike of every budgets. Now on Feb 20, what the Govt does it’s to be seen.
