AGARTALA, Feb 17 (TIWN): Tripura Govt has compensated Martyr Shambhu Satmura’s family with Rs. 5 lakhs on Friday.
Apart from that a job also to be given to one of the Marty’s family.
West District Magistrate Millind Ramteke handed over the cheque to the Martyr’s mother’s hand, in the presence of SDM S Chowdhury.
On the other side, Tripura Assembly Session also began by remembering Shambhu Satmura and Chittaranjan Debbarma. Both of them sacrificed their lives during battling period at Kashmir.
Compensation to Chittaranjan Debbarma’s family also will be given the same.
Satmura became martyred during the India-Pakistan border in Jammu Nov 23rd, 2016. Tripura BSF (107 battalion) jawan, Satmura, 34, was patrolling along the border in the Jamia Wali Gali area of Poonch district when a mine, laid by the Pakistani army on a slippery slope, exploded, killing him on the spot. Satmura joined the BSF in 2007 and is survived by his father Lt. Shibcharan Satmura (65) mother Beena Satmura (62) elder sister Sima, younger sister Mousumi and wife Shipra Satmura, whom he married four years ago.
