AGARTALA, Feb 7 (TIWN): In a Joint Venture of GAIL, Govt, of Tripura and Govt, of Assam, has been working to promote PNG & CNG in the State of Tripura.

Government of Tripura in its letter(D.O. No. F.IV-l(75)PLG/DI/2008/1599, dated 10th Nov’2016), to the Secretary, MoP&NG has laid due emphasis on making natural Gas available in other parts of Tripura

The genesis of TNGCL way back in 1990 was with the objective of covering entire Tripura under PNG coverage, as Natural Gas is produced locally.

TNGCL in Agartala GA currently supplies PNG to 29000+ domestic, 356+ Commercial and 50+ Industrial units along with dispensing of CNG to 10,000+ vehicles everyday through 5 of its CNG stations.

It is noteworthy to mention that TNGCL has already set up a Daughter Booster Station at Udaipur which is fed by Cascade mounted LCV’s plying between Agartala and Udaipur which serves approximately 1500+ vehicles per day out of the registered 10,000 three & four wheeler vehicles . It is a well known fact that setting up a CNG Mother Station at Udaipur will help in creating a CNG corridor for entire South Tripura by setting up more CNG DBS at adjoining Melaghar, Amarpur, Manu Bazaar and Belonia based on the Mother Station.
