AGARTALA, Feb 6 (TIWN): Although from South Tripura to North Tripura every regions are suffering from year-wide terrorism threat, but Tripura police Chief DGP K Nagraj claimed that Tripura has zero percentage of extremist threats. But in reality not only Assam, Mizoram are facing the continuous threats of extremism, but the Tripura section is also suffering a lot due to the extremist activities especially in North Tripura. In a joint move of Assam, Tripura Assam Rifles booked 3 Reang terrorists from Assam’s Hailakandi Dist. From Tripura the 30 Assam Rifles, whereas 39 Assm Rifles based in Aizawl, Mizoram, Hailakandi Dist police jointly held this drive. The terrorists belong to the Democratic Liberation front of Barak Valley (UDLF-B), earlier known as UDLA. The arrested terrorists are : Milirai Reang (36), Netarai Reang (60), Rajkumar Reang (50). Reportedly, the Assam Rifles Force had jointly worked against increasing Bru extremism threats across Northeast. A major portion of Brus are residing over Tripura’s Kanchanpur area.Due to lack of proper police intelligence network, Tripura again facing hard times due to terrorists attacks by Bru extremists.

Lack of cooperation between Tripura and Mizoram Govts, then lethargy of Mizoram to take them back, bru refugees disturbing the peaceful environment of Northern Tripura. Kidnapping of innocents for ransom by Bru terrorists, are rising at alarming rate, but Tripura Govt. yet to take tough measures .

However, one after one Bru terrorists are coming out being sheltered inside state Tripura, but the Mizo Govt.'s lethargy to take back the Brus are increasing terrorism threats in state.

Union Home Ministry's Joint Secretary in charge of the Northeast Satyendra Garg visited Kanchanpur on June 4 but outcome of this meeting with Bru leaders, Mizoram and Tripura Govt is stil inconclusive as Bru refugees are reluctant to return to Mizoram.Garg told reporters in Agartala that the Supreme Court had asked the Union Home Ministry and the Mizoram and Tripura governments to jointly work for the return of the tribal refugees to their homes in Mizoram.

Allegations by Kanchanpur locals against Manik Sarkar govt. is that  Bru insurgents had done many violent crimes in state, including burning of local Bengali homes to kidnapping innocent people for ransoms.

However, apart from the incident of Burning homes of locals in May 15 there are many incidents  which shows how much the Mizo repartition is necessary to flush out Brus for the sake of Tripura’s safety.

However, after the successful drive held in April 22,2016 when 30th Assam Rifles Batellion and Karimgnaj police nabbed two Chief Bru leaders named Arunjoy Reang & Dailoram Reang, on Sunday again police of Kathlicherra and 30th Assam Rifles successfully caught another Bru terrorist named Shankar Barman.

Bru terrorist named Shankar Barman also connected with a major terrorist group based in Mizoram lead by Terrorist Chief L V Charki at Mizoram.

Earlier Bru terrorist   kidnapped a local from North Tripura and following this incident police caught him from Gharmura (Near to Hailakanti, Assam).

Earlier, Assam Rifles undertaken Tripura-Mizoram border anti-terrorist operation on June 29th and after 3 days three terrorists have been nabbed. Three terrorists have been identified as Kasrai Reang from Monachara under Khepachara P.S. Tripura part. Another Rajkumar Reang was caught who is resident of Konasib at Mizoram & Babulal Reang from Gandachara, Hailakandi. Union Home Ministry led anti-terrorist operation began 2 months back when the Chief Bru terrorist leaders were nabbed from the faction of L V Charki (the head of Bru terrorist group based on Mizoram).

On July 1st, Assam Rifles 30th Btn nabbed 3 Bru terrorists from Kalachara, North Tripura.
