AGARTALA, Dec 29 (TIWN): Whereas the State Govt Employees of Tripura are eyeing for 7th Pay Commission’s implementation so that pay will be doubled on par with Central Govt employees but Tripura Finance Dept. announced on Wednesday that a mere 5% DA bonaza as ‘new year’ gift for State Govt. employees. Manik Sarkar’s CPI-M Govt created a DA gap of 42 % and now it stands at 38 %, which will be addressed after the 7th Pay Commission implemented in Tripura. The opposition parties of Tripura are planning for more protests demanding Central level pay scale but showing a thumb to the oppositions the ruling CPI-M has ended like last time with 5 % DA hike. It was expected that Tripura Finance Minister Bhanulal Saha would hold a talk about the Pay Commission’s implementation in Tripura during the last Assembly Session. But, the whole winter Assembly session was ended dry without holding any discussion on pay-Commission’s implementation.

However, for the first time Tripura govt. in 2008 implemented Pay Review commission, whereas the employees were expecting the Pay-Commission’s implementation. But in the name of Pay review till day govt. employees have been deprived in Tripura. It took 9 years for grade pay’s introduction in Tripura. Out of 20 PSO for pensioners, Tripura has only 6 out of them which are given to a selective section of employees.

Even after High court orders to clear 31% DA to the state government employees, Tripura government once again in the cabinet meeting deprived its employees by giving only mere 9 % DA across the whole year.

It is to be mentioned here that Tripura High Court has ordered the state govt. to pay 31 % DA unless the govt. here doesn’t take any proper DA system and Pay Commissions implement. High Court Judge SubhashishTalapatra in a divisional bench announced it. Court has ordered to give the 31 % DA since 1/1/2009 to 27/8/2011, in 3 installments. So the first instalment will be started from 1/7/2016. By increasing 4 per cent DA for the pensioners and state government employees the difference between the state and central employees still remained at 42%.

On Dec 4, 2016 Tripura BJP Tripura state BJP on Sunday raised the issue of implementing the pay commission in Tripura which is getting delayed day by day. BJP state leaders in a press meet told media that if within 3 months the pay commission is not implemented then BJP will go for mass protest.

“On 17th December 2015, Tripura Finance Secretary GSG Ayyangar said that there would be no loss to the Tripura Govt if the 7th pay commission is implemented; but after that no action on it was taken”, Chakraborty added.

About Tripura’s pay commission recently Tripura Trinamool also raised voice. In a press meet TMC leader Sudip Barman said,Tripura State Govt employees fates have remained in garbage even-after waiting for long 23 year, Tripura govt again declared not to implement pay-commission in state due to fund crisis.

In a recent development it has been known that whereas all the Northeastern states are implementing 7th Pay Commission, Left-ruled Tripura & Congress-ruled Mizoram has delayed the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC) recommendations for their employees. Central Govt paying the full salary to Tripura Govt employees, but Manik Sarkar giving half of it, saying the half money they are using for other welfare, whereas RMSA working staffs lost their jobs but Tripura govt could not ensure their jobs with that hefty money.

In this condition how much happy the govt employees are with a mere 5 % DA hike, it’s to be seen in coming days.
