BJP called strike receives mixed response amidst ruling party’s objection

KAMALPUR, Dec 28 (TIWN): The 12 hours’ Dhalai district strike called by BJP in protest of the murder of their elected member of Old Dalapati VC at Gandachara namely Chanmohan Tripura, bore mixed results in the sub-division.

Police led by SDPO Dr. Chandan Saha left no stone unturned to keep the shops, offices open at there and to maintain the law and order. However, a bit mishap took place between the CPI-M and BJP supporters at Durgachowmuhani market and Shantirbazar. Police controlled the situation quickly.

In the morning, Congress Sevadal also arranged for an anti-strike rally. However, many expressed their opinion that, BJP called for district strike with vested interest to condemn the pre-scheduled program of Congress. Moreover, the role of Chanmohan as a quack and the familiarity of murderer Biswada Tripura of being the supporter of BJP got disclosed. It might be mentioned here that, VC member of Old Dalapati VC Chanmohan Tripura was murdered by Biswada Tripura on Monday evening when Chanmohan went to Biswada’s house to perform some magical remedies. Immediately, police arrested Biswada and booked him under case number 34/2016 of Gandachara police station. He was produced before the Court yesterday and the Court sent him to seven days’ JC. BJP called for a 12 hours’ district strike declaring Biswada as a CPI-M supporter.
