AGARTALA, 22 (TIWN): Replying MLA Padmakumar Debbarma’s question on MGNREGA , Chief Minister Manik Sarkar labeled allegation against the Central Govt for slashing funds, but in anyway Govt remains mute spectator while it comes to explanation. Reportedly, the Reliance Jio tracking system and the MGNREGA wage payment issue have put the Govt under further pressure. Central govt also told the States that not only work but how much work development has come it will also be seen. Moreover one work status can not be uploaded more than 3 to 4 times. Although second time the work can be seen or updated, but it will be tracked under satellite Geo tracking.
How many water-bodies have been dug, how much rural works have done it will come under track. Talking to Sinha on Thursday he told TIWN, ‘I raised the matter before the Joint Secretary of Union ministry of RD Department at Delhi, attaching a copy with the state Chief Secretary Y P Singh against misappropriation of public money by Srinathpur and other RD Blocks”.
At Assembly Ratan Lal Nath also raised the Srinathpur issue, against which High Court has ordered to begin SIT inquiry upon the Rs. 1.50 crores Panchayat scam held during last two financial years.
A case was filed by opposition MLA Birajit Sinha, who brought serious allegations against the concerned authorities of Kailasahar, Srinathpur Gram Panchayat under Gournagar RD Block, Unakoti District for “non implementation of Govt. Projects: IAY House, MGNREGA and Fishery”, after many protests held by Congress on that time.
However, on that time as the MGNREGA ombudsman was judge N K Sinha who later proclaimed that all the allegation brought by Sinha are false. Delivering his report N K Sinha told the Govt of Tripura that no embezzlement of fund was done by any Panchayat there.
The report was sent to the Centre and Central RD Dept further replied to Birjit Sinha that his allegations have been proven as wrong, which led Sinha to knock the door of High Court, and HC ordered SIT to investigate the case further.
As per High Court order SIT will investigate the case, but this is the same investigation committee which has failed to submit any report on Chit-fund evenafter the deadline crossed. In this regard TIWN asked Birjit Sinha what will he do if under SIT the investigation gets slow. Sinha replied, “We will make a Counter Committee in this regard, so that the investigation goes smoothly”.
“The committee will ‘help’ SIT”, Sinha said and laughed.
In the month of Sept, 2015---District Congress President Badarudh Jaman mentioned that elected members of Congress and two independents members of Srinathpur Panchayat of Kailashahar on Tuesday last, filled an FIR against the former BDO, Pradhan and a Panchayat Secretary at Irani Police Station.
Raising voice against the corruption, independents member of Srinathpur Panchayat Rusmat Ali complained that altogether Rs. 64 lakh of the MGNGERA and PDF fund of the financial year 2014-2015 has been grasped by the alleged members.
It’s worthy to mention here that some of the govt. projects sanctioned by the Block Development Officer (BDO) of Gournagar, Srinathpur under Unakoti District for implementation, but not a single project was reportedly implemented. He further alleged that the fund allotted by the Govt. was squandered. However, with the judgment of High Court Sinha is happy.
