AGARTALA, Dec 19 (TIWN): Although Tripura’s highest Mandays award was snatched after the Central RD Dept. found huge embezzlement with MGNREGA funds and mandays, CM Manik Sarkar repeated the same claim at Agartala that Tripura became first for MGNREGA mandays in last 2yrs. “Bring same award this yr too”, said Chief Minister. Tripura Govt did as much as possible with its fake highest MGNREGA man-days records but the govt could not hold it for a long as the Joint Secretary of Rural Development Aparajita Sarangi unmasked the real face of Manik Sarkar’s rural dept under Principal Secretary GSG Ayyangar and warned the Rural Development Dept of Tripura to fill up the gap between the published development and the original work done here.

With the aim of fund allocation, the Tripura Govt was increasing its fake man-days record in its websites and also without any fear sent to the central govt. That time Tripura CM asked Aparajita Sarangi to make a documentary on Tripura’s rural development. But that activity resulted in horrifying as Tripura Govt was slashed by MGNREGA funds as the original record of work development was around 33 % whereas the govt showed it around 85 %.

It’s worthy to mention here that High Court has ordered to begin SIT inquiry upon the Rs. 1.50 crores Panchayat scam held during last two financial years.  A case was filed by opposition MLA Birajit Sinha, who brought serious allegations against the concerned authorities of Kailasahar, Srinathpur Gram Panchayat under Gournagar RD Block, Unakoti District for “non implementation of Govt. Projects: IAY House, MGNREGA and Fishery”, after many protests held by Congress on that time. Sinha raised the matter before the Joint Secretary of Union ministry of RD Department at Delhi, attaching a copy with the state Chief Secretary Y P Singh against misappropriation of public money by Srinathpur and other RD Blocks.

However, on that time as the MGNREGA ombudsman was judge N K Sinha who later proclaimed that all the allegation brought by Sinha are false. Delivering his report N K Sinha told the Govt of Tripura that no embezzlement of fund was done by any Panchayat there.

The report was sent to the Centre and Central RD Dept further replied to Birjit Sinha that his allegations have been proven as wrong, which led Sinha to knock the door of High Court, and HC ordered SIT to investigate the case further.

As per High Court order SIT will investigate the case, but this is the same investigation committee which has  failed to submit any report on Chit-fund evenafter the deadline crossed.
