AGARTALA, Dec 15 (TIWN): Tripura’s corrupt DGP K Nagraj challenged media on Tuesday and said, ‘It’s important to reveal the actual crime rate as various media are flashing that crime rate is increasing in Tripura’. ‘I will say crime rate has drastically downed in Tripura & it’s going back to the average percentage of 2006-era. We have surveyed on various states crime rates and gathered data to find out where Tripura stands in crime rate in whole India’. “In last 5 yrs, the crime rates has exceptionally downed in Tripura and the last 3 years more developments were followed in it...”, CBI charge-sheeted corrupt DGP continued lies based on fabricated statistics even though crime rate skyrocketed in Tripura during last 5 years.

Tripura Police under tainted DGP Nagraj failed to register over 80% of crimes against women due to lack of FIRs, no police actions which are being shown as the so called improvement of ‘law & order’ in Tripura.

“In crime against women in 2015 till Nov 30th there were 4473 cases, whereas 3800 cases were reported this year. In every cases the crime rate is decreasing”, Nagraj said.

Clarifying police role in crime against women's rate he said, “25 % cases in crime against women are grounded on domestic violence, whereas as 25 % are on rape and rest of the 50 % is all about eve-teasing, molestation, going away with a men etc”.

“In accident cases there is a 25 % decreasing rate and in last 2 years no Extremist threat was found”, Nagraj added.

However, after Nagraj finished his speech, another boot-licker of CM Manik Sarkar and Police Accountability Commission member Pranay Sahay (Ex- Director General of Police of the Central Reserve Police Force) said that 25 % cases remain unregistered in Tripura(as per public opinion), which Nagraj didn’t mention.

Ex-DGP was candid enough to admit that Police failed to performt their duties as 25% crime cases never registered by Police across Tripura - but this Manik Sarkar's pet ex-DGP  uttered lies that only 25% crimes cases are not registered by Police  whereas over 80% crimes cases in Tripura go unregistered to bolster image of Chief Minster Manik Sarkar.

But a survey said, it's in 80 to 90 % cases that the police do not register the FIR in Tripura, especially in rural areas.

Question also arises, cases are happening, police is also arresting---but how many convictions are coming out? Doesn’t it prove Tripura Police’s incapability?

Moreover, Nagraj also clarifying it well-said, conviction rate is high at Mizoram, as the local community is there very strong, which ensures the conviction. They follow up with witnesses, but in Tripura it’s seen after a time, the witnesses are vanishing one after one.

However, K Nagraj who has studied a lot give some lump sum of the crime rate of Tripura would better for Tripura people if he tried  to concentrate how to teach Tripura about strong charge sheets making,  to direct police officials to right way, what to do with pending Bimal Chakraborty, Panna Ahmed, Bimal Saha Murder case.

Tripura Governor Tathagata Roy also later said, "...the crime rate doesn’t matters on the social aspects, but it depends fully up to the police. At Mizoram that’s true the local community is doing a great job, and whenever a person in problem or somebody dies they whole community jumps to help… but has many issues including religious issues too".

He also said, "In America public fear police more than anything, so here also police would try to take strong steps against crimes, rather than sharing tea-coffee, listening Rabindra Sangeet with criminals".

"Collect data, make strong chargesheet & follow up with cases", added Roy.

It’s worthy to mention here that Nagraj  is an accused for possessing disproportionate assets in his home state of Andhra Pradesh. The CBI had also charge-sheeted Nagraj for possessing assets 500 times more than his known source of income long back but case is still pending.

Nagraj was charge-sheeted along with his father and brother in the court of the Special Judge, Hyderabad, for possessing assets in his own name as well as in the names of his family members in 2012.

The CBI had registered the disproportionate assets case against him in 2005.

The investigating agency investigations had revealed that during the period from 1978 to 1997 Nagraj had acquired assets and incurred expenditure to the tune of Rs 83.42 lakh against an income of Rs 13.24 lakh from all his known sources of income.

Nagraj continued corruption by acquiring assets disproportionate to his Govt salary to such high tune that CBI still running corruption investigation against him.

The CBI also found that he was operating as many as 16 bank accounts and atleast three bank lockers.

Under such a corrupt DGP Nagraj - how Tripura people can expect a fair police force and reporting of crimes ?

Central Govt should reward Tripura CM a 'crown' for choosing a corrupt CBI charesheeted DGP to lead State's Police force.
