SABROOM, Dec 14 (TIWN): A Joint Survey team organized by High Level Indo-Bangla team on 13th Dec by both counties at Ramghar site & also at Sabroom side for finalization & demarcation of alignment of approach road. Recently Indo-Bangla team organized meeting in Dhaka on 6th Dec 2016 regarding construction of RCC Bridge over Feni river at Sabroom. Officials of PWD & NHIDCL also conducted joint survey work with immediate effect.
According to source , Feni Bridge construction to communicate Tripura with Bangladesh will begin from January 2017. Already works of land acquisition started. According to sources the works of land acquisition for construction of approach road has started with full swing and the work will completed soon. The 1200 Meter road will be constructed from Feni River by GOI.
Representatives of India Bangladesh organized a joint meeting at Ramghar Municipality Conference Hall of Bangladesh Side.Addl Chief Engineer of Land & water Bidhan Chandra Dhar , Abu Hena,Addl District Magistarte AKM Rafikul Islam , Land Custom Officer Tamanna Nasrin Urmi & Ramghar Municipality Chairman Mohd. Sahajahan Kaji Ripan from Bangladesh Side were remain present in Joint Forum.
Director of NHIDSL Anandkumar, Addl Director NHIDSL Sanjoy Rajan, Engineer Santap Tatu , Technical Enginner of National Highway Bijan Bhuya & Pradip Kumar Baidya were from India side were also present in the meeting.
Central Government will provide Rs. 125 crore for construction of Feni Bridge over Feni river. Chief Secretary Y.P. Singh informed after his meeting with DoNER Secretary. The length of the bridge will be 412 Meter and width of it will be 15 Meter. Above all the central Government will also provide Rs.100 crore for construction of Maitri Setu and Rs 25 crore for land acquisition. Long pending demand of People of Sabroom comes to end after development in bridge construction continues.
Earlier Construction of bridge over river Feni is being taken up by Ministry of Road Transport & Highways. This issue of coordination with Bangladesh for the construction of the bridge was raised in the 10th meeting of the Joint Working Group on Trade with Bangladesh, which was held on 8th-9th June 2016 at New Delhi. The Bangladesh side was requested to undertake construction of corresponding road link in its territory up to the India- Bangladesh border. The issue is being followed up with the Bangladesh side.
