AGARTALA, Dec 11 (TIWN): The local women of Bankumari on Saturday blocked the main road in their locality with empty pitchers on their hands.
During the protest the women alleged that the water supply has been disrupted in that area long back, due to some machinery fault, but even after many complains the authority didn’t take any action till day, resulting acute drinking water crisis to them.
The drinking water crisis has remained as a part of everyday problems for Tripura people.
Not only on hills but in plain areas also the problem hit day to day lives.
As a result roar of protests are held everyday here in many corners of the state.
However, the local authority came to the spot and told the protesters that their problem will be solved within a day, TIWN reported.
