AGARTALA, Dec 8 (TIWN): Secretary (Internal Security) Ministry of Home Affairs, Mahesh Singla who arrived here in Tripura, in an attempt to take notes on the Bru reparation development, held a meeting with Sandeep Mahatme, the North DM and also met the Brus there at Kanchanpur.
Reportedly, Singla asked the Brus to repart from Tripura and go to Mizoram, as nothing will be solved by staying here.
However, the progress was nothing at all, TIWN reported.
The Bru reparation has remained as complex issue till now due to various reasons although from 2017 Januray the repartition is said to begin.
It’s worthy to mention here that Union Government on 29 February 2016 constituted a committee to consider Scheduled Tribe status to six Communities of Assam. The committee will be headed by Special Secretary (Internal Security) Ministry of Home Affairs, Mahesh Kumar Singla.
