Poor internet service worries HC Chief Justice : ‘Launching a Machine is one thing and utilization and maintenance is another’, T Vaiphei asks for seamless network service in Tripura during E-Court launching

AGARTALA, Dec 7 (TIWN): The poor network of Tripura also concerned the Chief Justice T Vaiphei after the E-Court facility was launched in 12 Court sites of the state from the High Court. In the presence of Tripura Law Minister Tapan Chakraborty, who is also the Minister for Industry, IT Vaiphei said, “Having machine is one thing, but proper utilization and maintenance of it is another thing”. Citing example Vaiphei said, the Guwahati-Itanagar-Kohima was suffering from ‘No Network’ problem during his time, so the connection should not be an obstacle”. “It should have proper internet facility”, he said.
“Moreover, someone has to push the state towards Digitally-Knowledgeable”, said Vaiphei laying importance to the techno-interest of the people. However, Tapan Chakraborty said, through broad-band and other facilities the state is well-connected and the rest of the places to be brought under the network facility.

Vaiphei claims that the E-court service will majorly help the busy people of Tripura. “This facility really goes for the busy scheduled people who have little time to spare on court”, said Vaiphei.

Vaiphei also mentioned that during the launching of the service there was lot of network problem faced by the officials, which was sorted out by Justice Subashish Talapatra nicely.

However, out of 15 court sites fully completed in 12 sites : Agartala, Bishalgarh, Sonamura, Khowai, Udaipur, Amarpur, Belonia, Sabroom, DJ Kailashahar, CJM Kailashahar, Dharmanagar and Kamalpur.

80 new laptops have already purchased and distributed among the Judicial Officers.

Moreover, the SMS facility has been successfully started in Dist Court Complexes at the above mentioned courts.

The process of scanning, digitization, storage, retrieval & digital preservation is under consideration and the system will be initialized by 2017, TIWN reported.

It was also announced that the Court location mobile application software provided by the e-Committee has been tasted for incorporation in Tripura Judiciary.

Drupal based websites for the Dist Judiciary are functioning & HC claimed that the daily or judgments, notification, judges information etc are uploaded as a regular practice.
