Tapan Chakraborty tells Kadiyam Srihari about Tripura’s successive literacy rate (?) : Like MGNREGA fake-report scam, bogus record of 98 % Literacy rate may turn heavy on Tripura govt

AGARTALA, Dec 6 (TIWN): Telengana Deputy Chief Minister cum Education Minister Kadiyam Srihari, who arrived in Tripura on Monday, met Tripura Education Minister Tapan Chakraborty on Tuesday and discussed about Tripura’s mega literacy rate of 98%. On Monday he also met the Chief Minister Manik Sarkar, and reportedly Sarkar also lectured him about the successive literacy rate (mostly bogus, inflated figures) of Tripura. However, Manik Sarkar’s pet IAS officers like GSG Ayyangar and others in Govt primarily focused on creating false records to hog national limelight and more central funds. Tripura Govt did as much corruption as possible with its fake highest MGNREGA man-days records but the govt could not hide it for a long as the Joint Secretary of Rural Development Aparajita Sarangi understood the matter.Sarangi unmasked the real face of Manik Sarkar’s rural dept officials under Principal Secretary GSG Ayyangar and warned the Rural Development Dept officials to fill up the gap between the published development and the original work done in Tripura.

With the aim of fund allocation, the Tripura Govt was increasing its fake man-days record in its website and also without any fear sent to the central govt. Similar way, Tripura's Education Dept also created an inflated number of 98% literacy rate to pitch for more central funding so that CPI-M party funds can be enriched.

That time Manik Sarkar asked Aparajita Sarangi to make a documentary on Tripura’s rural development during Sarangi's visit here.

But that activity led by CPI-M govt resulted horrifying as Tripura Govt was slashed by MGNREGA funds as the original record of work development was around 33 % whereas the govt showed it around 85 %.

The same thing may happen with Education Dept of Tripura, as the Chief Minister in his everyday speech hiking the percentage of literacy rate. Although NITI Aayog member Bibek Debroy during NE Summit-2016, suggested Manik Sarkar to check properly, whether the claim for ‘Tripura highest literacy rate in the whole country is 100 % correct or not’ but  Sarkar on Dec 2nd further claim that Tripura’s literacy rate is now about 98 % as per Sept month’s survey. “Only 2 % is left to be 100 % in Tripura’s literacy rate”, claimed Sarkar.

However, if the capacity of writing own name is called literacy then may be Sarkar’s claim is true but what about state skill-less Education system ? What about 7 lakhs unemployed youths of Tripura?
