AGARTALA, Dec 5 (TIWN): Agartala City to become blue city, such was claimed by an official on Monday at Pragna Bhawan.
This was said on the background of the event, when Tripura Govt decided to launch EESL scheme in Tripura to down the cost of electricity.
Under the scheme, LED bulbs will be introduced which will more lessen the price with 3 years of warranty of the bulbs and it will be done by Ujala Company.
Addressing at Pragna Bhawan AMC Mayor Prafullajit Sinha said till 2007 AMC used bulbs and then from 2008 CFL was introduced here, which downed the cost.
Now LED which is 10 % less costly than CFL also lights more than CFL.
More 37 crores AMC will have to pay to the power dept, said Sinha.
Agartala has round 38,000 bulbs among them 34,200 are LEDs and 4,032 are CFLs yet. But all will be converted with LED which will make the city into blue with its lights.
However, Manik Dey said that whole Tripura will be covered by this scheme.
Under same minister who is holding the ministerial chair of Urban Development the SMART City plan was failed and now he is aimed to convert the city into a 'blue city'.
CPI-M ministers here throwing their false promises one after one, whereas none of these get any success ultimately.
