AGARTALA, Oct 25 (TIWN): BJP led Central Govt. in its two years under Prime Minister Narendra Modi has challenged to convert the country with a digital kick to control various central schemes including MGNREGA in its states, but the Digital India Vision in CPI-M Era is under heavy challenge as the remote hilly areas are far away to get proper internet speed. The 9 pillars of Digital India Movement are: 1) Broadband Highways, 2)Universal excess of phones, 3) Public internet excess, 4) e-Governance : Reforming government through technology, 5)E-Kranti: electronic delivery of services, 6)Electronic manufacturing : target net zero imports, 7)IT for jobs, 8) Information for all, 9)Early harvest programme. In the vision for Digital India it is said : 1) Digital Infrastructure as utility to every citizen, 2)Digital Empowerment, 3) Governance and services on demand.

When in Tripura public are much harassed due to the MGNREGA wage-delay, low pay scale this vision was aimed to benefit the public through direct online payment but surprisingly in rural areas, also in urban areas Digital move is surprisingly very poor including the bank services, resulting the central govt yet to excess the digital facility to the public for various wages in rural Tripura.Whereas in town areas various companies are ready to invest for internet but in rural network govt is not much interested which it was to take.

Although BSNL is taking imitative to increase the speed as well as to expand network throughout Tripura but the Tripura govt may not want the direct payment either to workers or to the govt employees. Sources said that Central govt proposed to send the salary to the employees directly, but Tripura govt put objection in it with multiple reasons.

Tripura banks, ATMs mostly suffering from poor signal of internet as setting up of infrastructure is simple enough but ensuring everything works and making it affordable is another matter.

In the name of Capacity building, Tripura Govt. has failed to line up digital connectivity even after 8 years. Now the BJP led Central Govt. has increased the deadline upto 2017. The Capacity Building (CB) is a Project which was sanctioned by the Govt. of India for Tripura initially for 3-year period at a total cost of Rs.7.36 crores on 26th February in 2008, which had been extended till Jan 9, 2015. But, now the project has been further extended up to March 2017.
