Freight business in total loss: Tripura yet to begin Export business via Railway

AGARTALA, Oct 20 (TIWN): Tripura being considered as the Northeastern state has failed to implement own finance commission as its Govt lacks intention to invest anything for the state and to generate revenue from its own business. Manik Sarkar although cries for the revenue which is according to him is taking away by the “Central Govt”, has no intention to set up a finance commission in Tripura.

Even though increasing Tripura’s connectivity potentiality Union Railway Minister told Tripura govt. to use its greenery as state’s potentiality which can be exported via railways, but not a single bamboo or such products have been exported from Tripura. Import business is in full swing but in export Tripura is just a Big-Zero.

Central Govt. to focus on Tripura’s bamboo products as well as ready to give subsidy to the state if the govt is ready to boost economy by Railway revenue with ballast train. In a recent development it has been known that India’s poor Railway infrastructure led to spent 92.5 paisa last year to earn every rupee of revenue, leaving practically nothing to invest in new facilities or improve current ones. The one of the chief causes behind this are : various unions, who dislike all change, small or big. However, Suresh Prabhu intends to fix all infrastructural problems within 2019.

However, India has already been considered as the 5th biggest railway networks, in the world with 1.3 million employees. Thus fixing the huge expanded railway network is not so easy which connects the entire country with 68,525 KM of route track (in 2014), 12961 passengers trains and 8,637 freight trains.It also runs 125 hospitals, 586 polyclinics, 102 schools and sundry other initiatives.

However, the biggest problem of Railway infrastructure upgradation, is that without enough revenue the Railway is just becoming as a financial burden on the Unions Budget, and want to make it largely self sufficient organization run on the lines of an efficient corporation. But Railway must serve the poor people------ thus new routes are often decided with the need and fully non-commercial purpose. Thus good railway ministers are those , who do not hike railway fair.

With much those problems, India’s Railway Ministry is determined to upgrade the structure of railway and with freight train business or alike such planning to boost railway business in state.

Now if the state govts. start to invest for export business then it may help the Indian Railway further.
