AGARTALA, Oct 15 (TIWN): As was expected for the last few months due to CPI-M party's state Secretary Bijan Dhar's constant warning( read threatening) against BJP ,a group of drunked mafias from the New Boys Club of KrishnaNagar area attacked state BJP President Biplab Deb late on Friday night at his Nutan Pally residence. The incident took place at around 11.30pm as informed by Biplab Deb.

The miscreants were returning from immersion procession and when they came near the residence of Biplab Deb , at Natun Pally, Krishnagar all on a sudden they attacked Biplab Deb's residence without provocation. The drunked mafias ransacked his car and even brutally bitten his driver. After this when they were about to attack Biplab, his security guard forced to fire one round in the air I order to protect him.

At around 11.40pm Biplab informed the police and immediately a large number of police led by O C West P S Narayan Saha rushed to the spot. BJP state General Secretary Pratima Bhowmik and BJP State Yava Morcha President Tinku Roy and others rushed to his residence and held late night meeting with police officials in presence of  Biplab Deb .

State BJP Observer Sunil Deodhar condemned the attack on Biplab Deb saying that this was a deliberate attempt of CPI-M cadres . He said that on Saturday BJP karyakartas would stage state wide protest at 1pm condemning the attack and demanding the immediate arrest of the CPI-M sheltered mafias.

It is to be mentioned here that on the night 11th October stones were thrown at Biplab Deb's car when he was on his way to his residence with his wife Niti Vidrohi. Biplab Deb informed the Addl DIG S S Chaturbedi about the attack but till now no one was arrested .

His wife Niti Vidrohi in her Facebook page appealed to the people of Tripura for safety of her husband from ' devils and evils'.

This attack on Biplab Deb is significant due to the fact that CPI-M state Secretary Bijan Dgar un recent times has seen to warn ( threaten) his party cadres about the rising of BJP in the state. He also threatened that his partymen won't remain  silent I any disturbance is created by BJP.
