AGARTALA, Oct 8 (TIWN): Under Modi Govt and his Act East Policy, Agartala-Sealdah Kanchanjunga Express train has finally begun its historical journey from Agartala Railway Station at 5.15 AM on Saturday. BJP led Central govt without any party propagation, had decided to gift Tripura with this express train on the occasion of Maha-Saptami, by fulfilling their decade-long demand for Kolkata-Agartala Express Train. The train started at early morning with 21 bogies from Agartala Railway Station and at 7.25 AM it reached at Dharmanagar Railway Station. It left Dharmanagar Railway Station at 8.30 AM.PM Modi’s Act East Policy has been showered on NE, since it came in power in 2014. Other govt couldn’t gift anything to Tripura although meter gauge was anyhow managed in 2008. Tripura Transport Minister Manik Dey opposed the idea of Broad gauge saying, ‘it’s more necessary to maintain the meter-gauge than to launch a new gauge. But when in 2015 BG came finally, people’s cheered up in support of Modi govt. which had proven that how much the better railway services were demanding by Tripura people.
Then after local trains started to run regularly on BG, then in 2016 after work completion, on 31st July Tripura got its first express train for Agartala-Delhi with the title of Tripura Sundari Express Train. Union Minister Suresh Prabhu himself inaugurated the service on that historical day.
Amidst high temperature, Tripura people hours who came from various corners of the state on 31st July, hours and hours were standing to have a glimpse of Union Minister Suresh Prabhu and to hear what says.
CPI-M Ministers on that occasion started to pollute the moment with their fake histories about Rail-movement led by SFI (CPI-M’s Student Forum) since 50s’ era and they also raised points that it was more important to launch Kolkata-Agartala express train than the Agartala-Delhi train. But giving an utter shock Suresh Prabhu promised on the spot that Tripura is going to have its next express train soon.
Now, making history the Train has left Agartala railway station on Saturday 5.15 AM and presently on the way to Sealdah, after it left Dharmanagar Railway Station on 8.30 AM on Saturday.
