AGARTALA, Oct 7 (TIWN): Durga Puja festival which marks the victory of Goddess Durga over the evil buffalo demon, has finally begun on the occasion of Maha Shashthi.

On the occasion of Maha Shashthi state gears up in brotherhood sentiments while welcoming Devi Durga on earth for long 4 days. But the Country is undergoing tremendous terrorism threats with the attack of Pakistanis on India’s border areas.

Devi Durga who is considered as the destroyer of all omen powers------with her arrival the brotherhood sentiment has once again evoked the public to be together in Unity & regardless tribal, Bengalis, Hindus / Muslims all  are celebrating Durga Puja.

Pandal inauguration has been completed at various spots of Agartala and other subdivisions and on Thursday morning with ‘Dhaak’ people have cheered up to celebrate Durgotsav. Devotees had thronged to Puja Mandaps on Shashsthi morning offer prayers to Ma Durga.
