AGARTALA, Oct 2 (TIWN): Remembering the non-violent freedom-fighter Mahatma Gandhi, Tripura Governor Tathagata Roy on Sunday, on the occasion of Gandhi’s 147th birth anniversary said, “the nation will never forget Mahtama Gandhi & he will be in heart of every Indians foreverâ€.
“He is not such a person, whom we can forget. A personality like him is so rare”, said Governor.
“Nation will walk on Mahatma Gandhi’s path, will keep him in their hearts”, Roy added.
Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was born on October 2, 1869 in Porbandar, India. He became one of the most respected spiritual and political leaders of the 1900’s. Gandhiji helped free the Indian people from British rule through nonviolent resistance, and is honored by Indians as the father of the Indian Nation.
The Indian people called Gandhiji ‘Mahatma’, meaning Great Soul.
