UDAIPUR, MAY 4(TIWN) : " The educated people are aware of the dangers of Hepatitis B disease and accordingly they are taking necessary protection against this disease. But till today more than 70% people living in Tripura are not aware of this disease.
Thus arises the role of media in creating awareness among the people." These words were uttered by the Sabhadhipati of Dakshin Tripura Zila Parishad Himangshu Roy. Himangshu Roy was delivering the speech of the Chief Guest in the Hepatitis Awareness Generation Programme held in the Conference Hall of the Office of South Tripura Zila Parishad, Udaipur. The programme was organized by the Hepatitis Foundation of Tripura(HFT) .
At 11 in the morning Dr Pradip Bhowmik, President of HFT inaugurated the Awareness Generation Programme for the school students, teachers and media persons. Others who remained present on this occasion were HFT State Secretary Dibakar Debnath, CMO Gomati Dr Nirmohan Jamatia, HFT Udaipur Divisional Committee Secretary Partha Saha etc. Dr Debashree Debbarma gave away the Welcome address on this programme. HFT Udaipur Divisional Committee President Dr Bishnu Ch Dey presided over the programme.
Speaking on this programme Dr Pradip Bhowmik illustrated through digital presentation the causes behind this disease and also explained how people can overcome the disease. He said that HFT's goal is to make Tripura a Hepatitis Free State. " HFT is providing necessary medical aids in all Govt Hospital and at vaccination is given at subsidised rate. Hopefully with in the next five years HFT may reach to all the people of the state and make Tripura free from this disease. " Meanwhile, HFT Udaipur Divisional Committee Secretary Partha Saha thanked all for their assistance in organizing the Awareness Generation Programme.
